Admission - ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

B.Tech Criteria

a) Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, or examinations recognised as equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Mathematics separately, and 50% marks in Mathematics,Physics and Chemistry put together are eligible for admission. However, candidates with 45% marks in Mathematics separately, and 50% marks in Mathematics,Physics and Chemistry put together are eligible for admission under management quota. In case, the candidate has not studied Chemistry, the marks obtained in Computer Science shall be considered. In case, the candidate has not studied Chemistry and Computer Science the marks obtained in Biotechnology shall be considered. In case the candidate has not studied Chemistry,Computer Science and Biotechnology the marks obtained in Biology shall be considered. The marks as shown in the mark list of the Board of Examination obtained from the respective higher secondary board shall be considered for eligibility.

b) Candidates belonging to SEBC, with a total annual family income not exceeding ₹ 4.5 lakhs, will have relaxation of 5% marks in the qualifying examination.

c) The Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates have to procure only a pass in the qualifying examination.

d) Candidates should have obtained a qualifying score in the entrance examination conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examination,Kerala.

Age

Applicants should have completed 17 years of age on 31st December 2015.

Nationality

Candidates must be citizens of India.

Admission - How to Apply

  1. The application form may be collected from the College Office on payment of ₹ 400/-
  2. The application form duly filled should be submitted along with the attested copies of following Certificates and documents at the College Office on or before the prescribed date.
    1. 10th and 12th certificates.
    2.  Mark list of qualifying examinations.
    3. Caste & Income Certificate (for admission under reservation).
    4. Eligibility Certificate (for those qualified from Institutions outside Kerala).
    5. 5 Passport & 5 Stamp size photos.

The selection for Management Quota will be based on merit.The selected candidates will be asked to attend an interview before the final selection is made. 

 

M.Tech Criteria

 
SNIT offers M Tech programme in two streams of Engineering.

Candidates who have passed AMIE/ AMIETE Examinations and satisfying the following conditions, are eligible for admission.
• They must have a valid GATE Score.
• A minimum of 55% marks for section B in AMIE/AMIETE examination.
• Minimum three years of Professional experience in the field of Specialization after acquiring the qualifying degree.

  1. Candidates who have appeared for the final semester examination can also apply, provided he/she has passed all the subjects upto and including the Sixth semester exam. Selection of such candidates shall be subject to the production of qualifying degree on the time of admission.
  2. Admission shall normally be restricted to those with valid GATE score.
  3. In case seats remain vacant due to lack of candidates with valid GATE score, candidates from Kerala State without valid GATE score will be considered against such vacancies. If the seats are still remaining vacant, candidates from other states will be considered for admission.
  4. College merit rank list including all the eligible candidates applied in this institution will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination and the GATE score. The marks obtained in the qualifying examination will be subjected to normalization process

    Selection Process
  • Applicant must be an Indian National.
  • Applicant shall have studied the Graduate course in an Institution approved by AICTE / Deemed Universities. The degree shall be one approved by Kerala University as equivalent to their B Tech degree.
  • Candidate should have a minimum of 60 % aggregate marks in the Engineering degree Examination. For SC/ST candidates a pass in the Engineering Degree course is sufficient. For SEBC students, a minimum of 54% marks in the Engineering Degree examination is mandatory.
  • The Degree shall be in the appropriate branch of Engineering as listed belo

Allotment of Seats
Government Seats
• 50% of the seats for each stream (9 seats).
• These seats will be filled from, among the candidates who have applied in this institution, on the basis of their rank in the rank list published by DTE, by following the reservation policies as mentioned in the prospectus published by DTE.
 
Management Seats
• 50% of the seats for each stream (9 seats).
• 50% will be filled based on College merit rank list (9 seats).
