6. Problem encountered & resource required:

To conduct this induction program, the coordinator has to select a day in which no regular classes are there. All new faculties must attend the program. However, if any of the faculties is not present, then it will practically not possible to arrange these sections again.

The New Teacher’s Induction Program (NTIP) is a targeted initiative offering crucial support and guidance to newly qualified educators as they embark on their teaching careers. This program aims to facilitate a smooth transition into the education system, emphasizing professional development and enhancing the overall effectiveness of novice teachers. In this overview, we explore the key components and significance of the NTIP in shaping teacher growth and positively impacting student outcomes.

Goals:

  • To enable the faculty their roles and responsibilities in higher education and to impart essential professional skills, competencies and attitudes.
  • To explain and motivate the faculty to adopt learner centric approaches of teaching and classroom management.
  • To orient the faculty with the process of generating new learning materials for enrichment of online open access platforms.
  • To provide research orientation to young faculty towards integrating research with pedagogy and innovative classroom practices.
  • To sensitize and acquaint faculty with practical knowledge in an emotional balance of self and student counselling and mentoring.
  • To provide knowledge about different models of leadership to the participants in order to enhance their academic leadership skills.
  • To enable the faculty to learn the principles of strategic planning and management

Advantages of faculty induction program:

  • Professional growth: When Faculties attended induction program, it gives them the opportunity for continuous professional development. Help them to know new ways, methods, strategies, skills and tools. When teachers get upskilled, they automatically feel confident, happy and motivated to achieve greater things with their students.

In response to the mentioned context, the staff coordinator engaged in discussions with higher officials of the institution and, collaboratively, four sections were decided upon for the upcoming initiative.
