*Innovation &Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC) is an initiative by Kerala Startup Mission to spread entrepreneurship culture in college. In SNIT we rebranded IEDC as SNIT Technology Business Incubator (SNIT TBI)

SNIT TBI, established with the vision to motivate and promote innovative technological aspects and budding entrepreneurs. SNIT TBI is one of the most active IEDC Cells amongst all the engineering colleges in Kerala supported by the Kerala Startup Mission. Also, awarded as one among the top 25 best IEDC Cells in Kerala. SNIT TBI is powered by a group of efficient student executives elected through a series of quality tests under the leadership of Prof N Radhakrishnan Nair as TBI Chairman and Sri Shankar Dethan as the Nodal Officer SNIT  TBI was initiated by Mr. Aneesh S , the Nodal Officer in the beginning and Mr.SarunMurali as the Coordinator.

A brief sneak peek into the events and achievements of SNIT TBI

Achievements:

  • The first product prototype titles “Box Energy” from our IEDC secured 1st prize in TECHFEST conducted by KTU and KSCSTE with option for 5 lakh funding from KSCSTE for product development.
  • SNIT TBI team won the first prize in Start Up I3, event organized by Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) at Eranad Knowledge City Technical Campus, Malapuram
  • A team from SNIT was able to make into the final rounds of the prestigious annual YUVA Mastermind Project competition, An event organized by MalayalaManorama. We have been placed within the top twenty for last 2 consecutive years. Our project was featured prominently in MalayalaManorama daily.
  • Mr. Aneesh S: Nodal Officer SNIT TBI was one among the 10 delegates to attend, LEAP ED-TECH: Education Technology Conference held at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.
  • Mr. Sarun P Murali: Assistant Nodal Officer of SNIT TBI visited NASSCOM Centre of Excellence for IoT in Banglore
  • Mr. Aneesh S and Sarun P Murali attended FAYA’17: A conference on Disruptive Technology held at Technopark Thiruvananthapuram.
  • Mr. Aneesh S: Nodal Officer SNIT TBI attended 2 day Design Thinking Workshop organized by KSUM.
  • Nodal Officer of SNIT Technology Business Incubator, Mr. Aneesh S receiving award for exemplary performance on behalf of SNIT Innovation and Entrepreneurship development centre from KTU Vice Chancellor Dr. Kuncheria P. Isaac.SNIT is ranked among top 30 colleges in the state.
  • A five member team participated and secured 3rd prize for the project “D-Shield”​in the 3 day workshop Startup i3 conducted by Kerala Startup Mission at Cochin Institute of Science and Technology.
  • Vishnu Vishakan,S5 Automobile was part of 10 member delegation from Kerala to Mahindra plant visit with Kerala Startup Mission
  • A five member team participated and secured 1st prize for the project “Auto World”​in the 3 day workshop Startup i3 conducted by KSUM atSNIT Adoor.

Events:

  • SNIT TBI hosted an event named Out of Syllabus organized by Kerala Start Up Mission summarizing the concept of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre (IEDC) in colleges. It was a boost up for all the first-year students into the startup platform and entrepreneurship
  • Meet the Entrepreneur: An expert talk session by Mr. Saju, CEO of VYUS Technologies.
  • Slate and Pencil: With the participation of around 50 students a 2 day ideation workshop was conducted.
  • FDP: 2-week Faculty Development Program by the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India: Faculties from around 30 colleges across Kerala marked their participation in the event.
  • SNIT TBI conducted a 2 day event ‘Relevant’ ,an activity based workshop for selecting the executives for 2018-19 academic year.35 students from various branches participated in the event
  • A team of 35 students and 5 faculties from SNIT TBI marked their participation in the IEDC Summit held at ADLUX Convention Centre Angamali.
  • More than 50 students from SNIT TBI participated in various competitions, workshops etc held at different colleges across Kerala.

The Innovation Entrepreneurship & Development Centre (IEDC) of SREE NARAYANA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY Adoor named as ‘SNIT Technology Business Incubator’ (TBI) was inaugurated on 11th of March 2016 by Dr. J Letha, Vice chancellor of CUSAT.

Startup i3 camp was conducted on 7th, 8th, and 9th April 2016.This platform was provided by Kerala start up mission and Open fuel. Students from 20 colleges registered and participated in the camp. Students from automobile department of SNIT won first prize in the idea pitching competition conducted during the camp.

SNIT TBIorganized a two day workshop conducted by various experts from SNIPCLIP, a Delhi based successful startup on 26th and 27th July 2016.The programme was attended by 72 students from various departments including MBA.

Session was conducted by Mr. Sanju Mathew, a young entrepreneur from the state and specializing in Robotics on 4th August 2016.A total of 75 students attended the session.

The first session of Meet the Mentor programme was conducted on 11th August 2016 .The session was handled by Mr. Deborshi De. He is the partner/director at Step-inn hospitalities. About 62 students attended the session.

Student executive selection 2016-Studentsfor the posts CEO, COO, CTO, CFO, CMO were selected through group discussion and interview process. Five students were selected from 52 applicants. The appointment letters were given on stage during the teachers day function at the college.

One of our projects ‘Hydro Rescue System’ was selected and funded by ManoramaYuva Mastermind.

Our student project won 3rd prize in TECHNOVATE Techfest organized by Heera College of Engg& Technology in association with Kerala Startup Mission, KSIDC and District Industries Centre, Trivandrum.

Three of our student projects were selected by Institute of Land & Disaster Management for Student Assistance Program with a funding of Rs.50, 000 each.
