This lab is mainly focused to develop a platform where the students can enhance their engineering knowledge in maintenance of various automobile components by using sophisticated tools and equipment.
The aim of this course is to make the students gain practical knowledge about the fault detection technique and to familiar with the operations of sensors and actuators used in automobile. After this course, the student will be able to identify the issue in a vehicle from the output of the advanced testing equipment.
To familiarize the students with the basic manufacturing processes and to study the various tools and equipment used, hands-on training is given in different sections. Essentially students are exposed to basic workshop activities such as fitting, carpentry, sheet metal, smithy, casting and welding processes.
Mechanical Workshop: Workshop facilities will enable the students of various streams of engineering to gain basic knowledge in fitting, smithy, foundry and carpentry.
The objective of this course is to give a broad understanding of common materials related to mechanical engineering with an emphasis on the fundamentals of structure-property application and its relationships. A group of 6/7 students can conduct experiment effectively. A total of six experiments for the duration of 2 hours each is proposed for this course.
This lab is mainly focused to develop a platform where the students can enhance their engineering knowledge in the fluid mechanics domain by applying their theoretical knowledge acquired.
In this laboratory, students will have the opportunity to study the working principle of IC engines (both SI and CI engines), performance and characteristics in terms of heat balancing, economical speed variations, air fuel ratio influence on the engine to reinforce classroom theory by having the student perform required tests, analyze subsequent data, and present the results in a professionally prepared report. The machines and equipment used to determine experimental data include cut models of 4stroke diesel engine, 2stroke petrol engine, 4stroke and two stroke petrol engines with required. Specifications, Multi cylinder SI engine, Single cylinder Diesel engine for performance and speed test which is suitable to tests on variable compression ratios.
This lab emphasizes the use of different types of machines used in production field and makes the students apt for the industry. This lab gives students relevant exposure in the use of advanced machine tools like shaping machine, slotting machine and milling machines. Together with machine tools lab, it aims at enhancement of practical skills as well as development of awareness about machine upkeep, safety practices etc. To study the principle of operation, work holding and different operations of reciprocating machines like slotter and shaper. This lab acknowledges the scope of Computers in production technology and different expert systems used in manufacturing.
The lab provides working knowledge on Computer Aided Design methods and procedures. It impart training on Auto CAD, solid modelling and analysis software.
The main aim of this lab is to train the students in solid modelling, surface modelling, assembly modelling, mechanism design and drafting. The latest version of modelling software 3D experience is used in the lab. CAD Lab is also equipped with structural and CFD analysis softwares like ANSYS 19 which helps students to conduct numerical analysis on complex structures and fluid flow problems.
