Department of Mechanical Engineering is having an active student association called ARMEOS (Association For Royal Mechanical Engineers of SNIT) was inaugurated in the academic year 2016-2017.The Mechanical Association is committed to blossom into Outsourcing dedicated and competent engineers to shoulder the responsibilities of transforming the nation into a technologically, socially and culturally advanced one.The Mechanical Association, ARMEOS was inaugurated on 12th April 2017 at mini auditorium of SNIT by Sri Rajeesh, Deputy General Manager, ISRO Trivandrum. Principal Dr George Chellin Chandran and HoD Prof. Praveen Dathan delivered presidential address and welcome speech.Followed by lighting of lamp and inaugural address by chief guest Dr. Sri Rajeesh. He delivered a talk on the topic ‘The Space mission’. Rather than a scientific talk, it was related with the history of space mission, development of ISRO and its contributions to the world. In the talk he also mentioned the projects undertaken by VSSC and the various launching by PSLV’s and their future plans. The talk was interesting and at the same time knowledgeable.

Association Activities

• A job oriented training programme was conducted by CADD Center Adoor
• A FDP was conducted by INCAETEK on the topic Product development in 30/11/2017 for faculties
• An orientation class on the topic product development and design was conducted for S7 students by INCAETEK
• A County Cricket tournament was conducted under the association on 13 Jan 2018.
• A Cancer awareness camp was conducted on 18th Jan 2018.
